I am an energy healer. This is one of the gifts I bring to this World. How do I know who I am?
Since I can remember, I have noticed energy. When I was around 6 years old, I was shopping with my Dad in a grocery store. A man walked past us and when I looked at him, I just started crying. Dad asked me what was wrong and I said, “He’s just so old.” I was noticing his lack of vitality.
This man was shuffling along with a cane, hunched over, not much pep in his step. It was his lack of energy flow, or constriction of movement, that made my heart hurt. I cried because I knew this was not the ideal state for Humans to live in, even as we age.
Another time in college, I watched a Japanese anime movie. The name of it escapes me right now but in this film, there was a life draining energy that caused blight. All of the plants and animals withered and died. Towards the end of the film, a Life supporting energy came in and as it spread throughout the land, everything popped back to life and became green and vibrant. As I watched this film I thought to myself, “I can do that. I can bring things back to life.”
Moana tells a very similar story to the Japanese anime movie. It tells us that when the demi-god Maui removes the Heart of the Goddess Te Fiti, for his own purposes, it interrupts the flow of Life-giving energy, also known as Love, and blight begins to spread throughout the land and ocean.
Perhaps this story represents another layer of the gifts I bring to this World, to restore the Heart of the Goddess on Earth, because when I watch the part where Moana sings to Te Ka and restores her Heart, which brings her back to her original Wholeness, Glory and Goddess self, it touches me deeply.
I come from a line of energy healers. These miraculous men and women, my ancestors, do not identify with that title. Instead they will tell you what their jobs have been. They will say things like,
I raised children.
I delivered babies.
I grow vegetables.
I play piano at church.
But I know they are spreading green Goddess-y Love and healing people and land, just as we all, men and women, can do in our own way. They are energy healers and I bet, you are too.
